Meet our Partners

Over the past two years we have been fortunate to benefit from the advice and know-how of BCDC staff and leadership.

In 2021, Calm Waters Group reached out to BCDC to talk about equitable community engagement. BCDC has the government mandate to protect and enhance Bay Area shorelines. As a step toward equitable engagement of stakeholders, BCDC had developed a map of community vulnerabilities, and was working toward launching the Bay Adapt initiative.

OurTownHall is aiming to help BCDC accelerate its efforts toward equitable stakeholder engagement by leveraging technology.

Pilot for Boulder Fire-Rescue’s Community Risk Reduction Division

The Fire Ambassador Program and Detailed Home Assessment (DHA) Program are crucial elements of fire department’s strategy to reduce fire risk and enhance community resilience. To improve the effectiveness of these programs, we propose leveraging the OTH platform. The platform's capabilities can be adapted to map Homeowner Associations (HOAs), Fire Ambassadors, and informal community groups, creating a comprehensive resource to better coordinate fire safety efforts across our community.

These will allow the fire department to tailor fire safety interventions to the specific needs of each community. By understanding the unique characteristics of each HOA and informal group (communities with no HOAs, etc), they can develop risk reduction strategies that resonate with these communities, leading to higher engagement and better outcomes.
